Garbage Pick Up—Friday

  1. Remember to put the trash out for Friday garbage pickup!

    Refuse & Yard Waste Collection Guidelines: Garbage / yard waste must be in the cart with the lid closed completely. Bag all garbage before putting in cart. Do Not over fill your cart. (250 lb limit) Cart must be at curbside/alley by 7 am on your collection day. Face carts toward street. Arrows on the lid should point toward the street or alley. Leave 4' between others carts or objects. Bring cart in by 8 pm on collection day. Excess Garbage: Bag Tags can be purchased for garbage that does not fit inside the cart. Extra bag on cart as shown in the picture requires a tag ($1.25). You are allowed to place one bag with an attached tag on top of the closed lid of your cart for pick up. Excess garbage can also be brought to the Transfer Station at 15th and State Street. Location: Find a trouble free location for the cart, preferably on a level surface at the street or alley line and not directly under low hanging overhead wires. Do not place carts on top of snow piles.

  1. Imagine Downtown! Vision Plan Presentation and Open House

    September 25, 2019, 6:30 PM @ Council Chambers

    An open house will be held on September 25, beginning at 6:30 pm, in the Council Chambers at City Hall to present the public review draft of the Imagine Downtown! Vision Plan. A Q&A and open house will follow the presentation. All members of the public are welcome to attend to hear and view what is included in the draft. The Imagine Downtown! Vision Plan is based on the extensive public input gathered over the last six months. The plan will establish a general framework for public policy decisions and investment, in tandem with clear aspirations for the scale and character of future development in the downtown area. Yard Waste

  1. Remember to put yard waste out for Monday pickup!

    September 23, 2019, 7:00 PM - 7:01 PM

    Yard waste is collected curbside on Monday's in April, May, June, October, and November. July - September carts will be picked up on Mondays every other week. Collection varies due to the amount of yard waste placed at the curb. If your yard waste cart is missed on a Monday, please call the Public Works by 11 am on Tuesday. December - March residents must call (319) 273-8629 to schedule a pick up for yard waste. Residents can call after hours with their address to schedule a pick up for the following Monday.
